Time for an update. Friday and Saturday was the usual busy work days. Saturday market was the best ever. This market never slows down. It gets better and better. I got a few orders as well and I delivered for a wedding. They picked it up at the market. Quite fun.
Sunday was farm work. We needed to bring the cattle to the neighbours cattle yards for TB testing. It is another situation where we see how great the community is here in our road.
I watched 100 foot journey and was very disappointed. I read the book before and the book is great. I absolutely love it. I hated the movie. total Hollywood chick flick. So my recommendation: read the book and if you have to watch the movie, do it afterwards.
Monday was a big day for me. Jo Seagar is in Kerikeri for a fundraiser to support Hospice New Zealand. Kerikeri Events and Kerikeri Cooking club was supporting this event with providing the kitchen and support from volunteers. Of course I couldn’t miss this opportunity and signed up for the Monday session. It is always great to be at FlourFlower . We did some baking for Tuesday’s event and did prep work. Even though I do a lot of baking I found the recipes challenging. Mainly because I am not used to using self-raising flour. I try to avoid it. But in the end all was good. We had Pizza using Alexa’s mobile pizza oven and Jo Seagar was joining us as well as friends and supporters.
Mrs. L finished my chef jacket. It looks brilliant. I love it. It makes me proud to wear it. I need to take some pictures. I wear it with pride. Seriously, I put it on and felt completely different. Kind of professional. “Kleider machen leute – “Fine feathers make fine birds”. I was wearing it to the Jo Seagar event and can’t wait to wear it at the market.
Cheese Making:
The camembert shows the first fluff.
Waxed the Gouda today
Made a Tomme today using the new Tomme mould I got from France. Looks better than my first attempt. Weight is 3.025 kg prior to drying.
Happy Thoughts:
I have a feeling of professionalism at the moment. The Jo Seagar event gave me a boost.
Both of my businesses are running like clock work at the moment.
Managed to do most of the things I wanted to do today. Got great support from lovely Mrs. L.
