Packaging more important than quality?

Someone said about me on facebook that I make a very good point in a dicussion but that I am not very diplomatic. This was in a German group, the expression "diplomatic" can be replaced with the more common English phrase "political correctness".

I find it interesting that readers acknowledge the point I made (the product) but at the same time critizise that doesn't have the same weight as the same points made with more political correctness (the packaging).

Is the packaging more important than the quality of the product?
